Am-Tec started over 35 years ago.  ​It started as a small alarm company ran out of a home office but in the last few years Am-Tec has expanded into a business that reaches from all of Southern California and beyond. Am-Tec has now incorporated multiple new avenues in which security industry has developed into. Install tech assistant

Entry Position - Full Time
  • Assistants must be able to assist the job leader with gathering materials and loading necessary equipment onto work vehicles.
  • Must be willing to learn and receive instructions and ask questions when unfamiliar with job tasks.
  • Become familiar with tools and materials associated with job tasks.
  • While traveling to and from job sites, assist with paperwork or calls into office.
  • Any communications with customers and clients must be polite and if needed referred to your on-job Lead tech.
  • Must have some understanding of power tools and tools in general.
  • Must be able to work 10 hour days for 4 days a week.
  • ​Must be able to lift heavy objects, some of which could weigh up to and exceeding 50 pounds, on a regular basis.
  • Additionally, must be able to work occasional long hours, and they may need to work on call; they may need to work in indoor and outdoor settings, depending on clients' needs.
  • Must have a good demeanor and attitude with other colleagues and customers.
  • Responsibility to ensure that they are following company standards for conduct and actions.

Experienced Required:
  • High School Degree
  • No prior install experience needed
  • English language skills
  • Valid Drivers License required
Preferred Experience:

Service Technician

Full Time
  • Capable of installing, maintaining, and repairing wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Must start having a basic understanding of building codes, construction and job plans correctly.
  • Knowledge of the tools and materials required in day-to-day work is necessary.
  • Must be able to assist the job leader with gathering materials and loading necessary equipment onto work vehicle when necessary.
  • ​Must be willing to learn and receive instructions and ask questions when unfamiliar with job tasks.
  • Must have a good demeanor and attitude with other colleagues and customers.
  • Must be able to work 10 hour days for 4 days a week.
  • ​Must be able to lift heavy objects, some of which could weigh up to and exceeding 50 pounds, on a regular basis.
  • It is these technician’s responsibility to ensure that they are following company standards for conduct and actions.
  • While traveling to and from job sites, assist with paperwork or calls into office.
  • Additionally, low-voltage electricians need to communicate regularly with colleagues.
  • They should not only be able to effectively diagnose problems that arise in systems but communicate with other technicians on those problems as well.

Lead Technician 

Full Time
  • Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • They may also be responsible for instructing more-junior staff members on these tasks.
  • These technicians must have an understanding of building codes, construction and read job plans correctly.
  • They will need to have the skills to lead a job correctly and be able to handle medium to high-level troubleshooting on job sites.
  • These technicians are responsible for job completion, communication and paperwork with clients and office staff.
  • Knowledge of the tools and materials required in day-to-day work is necessary.
  • Additionally, these technicians need to communicate with correct verbiage regularly with colleagues and clients, meaning excellent communication skills are necessary; they should not only be able to effectively diagnose problems that arise in electrical systems, but communicate with clients on those problems as well.
  • Must be able to work 10 hour days for 4 days a week.
  • ​Must be able to lift heavy objects, some of which could weigh up to and exceeding 50 pounds, on a regular basis.
  • These technicians are responsible for calling and contacting clients.
  • They must have a good demeanor and attitude with other colleagues and customers.
  • It is these technician’s responsibility to ensure that all employees are following company standards for conduct and actions.
  • These technicians are responsible for vehicle maintenance, stock levels in vehicle, reporting any major issues with the vehicle and cleanliness of the vehicle. Amtec Security provides you with a vehicle and these are the technicians responsibility.
  • Ensure that payments from clients are received, unless stated otherwise.
  • These technicians may also be responsible for certain safety qualifications where needed for certain jobs.
