NEW CONTRACT: FAQ

WHY AM I HAVING TO FILL THIS CONTRACT OUT?
  • Our insurance company is requiring an updated copy of the Monitoring Contract
    • Note that this does not change the billing schedule, billing amount, or term length that was originally agreed upon when they signed up

COMMUNICATION SOFTWARE AND EQUIPMENT REMAINS PERSONAL PROPERTY OF ALARM COMPANY
  • This states the following:
    • We will tell people how to use and maintain the equipment that was installed
    • This maintains that we own the communication software that is used for the central station. (Think Virtual Keypad and Alarm.com)
    • The customer still owns the equipment unless explicitly stated

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE
  • This is the type of service that is being covered by the agreement

TOTAL INSTALLATION AND SERVICE CHARGES
  • This states what the monthly total of the agreement is, as well as the payment frequency

TERM OF AGREEMENT: RENEWAL INCREASE
  • This states that the agreement renews every month
  • That the customer is to give a 30-day notice that they are not going to continue
  • That the monitoring amount may increase but cannot exceed a 9% increase
    • This does not mean that we are changing the rates, but does protect the customer from a significant raise, if the rates were to change

CENTRAL OFFICE MONITORING
  • This states that the monitoring is performed by a third-party monitoring company
  • That the communication uses phone lines, airwaves, internet, and other methods that are beyond our control. This means shall not be responsible for any failure which prevents transmission signals from reaching the central office monitoring center or damages arising there from.
  • It says that we may charge a $95 service fee to activations/deactivations and service (not that it is guaranteed)

NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS: SUBSCRIBER'S EXCLUSIVE REMEDY
  • This states that we do not insure property and do not cover loss of property due to damage or theft
